Hello Fellow Crazy Lovers of Jesus! 😀
This past Friday through Sunday, I went down to Anaheim for an AWESOME CHRISTIAN CONFERENCE! As usual, I enjoyed so much that if I wrote it all down, none of you would even read it 😛 so I will attempt (and attempt is the key word) to crystallize my enjoyments.
The need to not only know about Christ, but the necessity of experiencing this Christ in our daily lives!
Ephesians 3:17-19 “That Christ may make His home in your hearts through faith, that you, being rooted and grounded in love, May be full of strength to apprehend with all the saints what the breadth and length and height and depth are, And to know the knowledge-surpassing love of Christ, that you may be filled unto all the fullness of God”
The speakers of the messages repeated again and again that just because we may know a lot about Christ, we still must humble ourselves before the Lord and confess that we are short of the experience of this Christ. The apostle Paul was such a servant of the Lord who constantly spoke concerning the knowledge and the experience of the Christ. He not only knew about Christ, he experienced this unsearchably rich Christ (Ephesians 3:8) as his moment by moment supply, even in the most unfavorable of conditions (Philippians 1:19)! Yet, in my experience, though I may know a lot about Christ (having been a Christian for a number of years) I am very short of the experience of this all-inclusive Christ. One of the speakers asked this question: “How big is your Christ?” If we are to be genuine and honest, the Christ that we experience is still very small for we have not attained to enjoying Him continuously throughout our day. We have not yet come to know Him in a full way either individually or corporately with other believers. So, with this being the fact, what should we do?
The Lord is faithful to shine light on us not only to expose us, but all the more so that we would come to Him and let Him do in us what we could never do in ourselves. Our response to any light from the Lord should always be prayer: “Lord, don’t allow me to be satisfied with my current knowledge and experience of You. Lord, I want to know You even more than Paul did! Bring us all on so that we may come to apprehend You with all the believers, and draw us to seek after You more than ever before!”
Here’s one of the four banners/themes of the conference for your enjoyment!
The church is produced from the unsearchable riches of Christ,
which are what Christ is to us, such as light, life, righteousness, and holiness,
what He has for us, and what He has accomplished, attained, and obtained for us.
What a Christ! Anyways, grace and peace be with you from Christians on Campus at UC Berkeley! 😀
